La predicción para el domingo era clara: olas pasando de 1,5m a 1m desde las 6 de la mañana a las 12. Todo ello con lluvia. Por tanto tocaba otra madrugada de domingo para poder surfear algunas olas decentes de nuevo.
Pero el resultado fue un poco diferente: a las 7 de la mañana (las 6 hora real, pues hubo cambio de hora durante la madrugada) estaba lloviendo, si, pero el mar estaba calmado, casi plato, y muy lejos de las olas de 1,5m predecidas ... Las predicciones volvian a fallar, pero aún así, decidí acercarme a la playa a probar la GoPro fijada en el remo.
En La Caleta, el swell era pequeño. Probé algunas olas pequeñas, pero los pescadores me hicieron desistir y buscar otro spot. Me dirigí remando hacia el norte, hasta la estación norte de Montgat, pero ... casi nada ... después de casi una hora buscando algun fondo de arena surfeable, decidí dejarlo y me dirigí de nuevo hacia La Caleta, con mi pecho aún dolorido con cada remada, y cuando llegué, desde la nada, apareció una ola por el pecho que me tiró de la tabla ... y después otra ... y otra ... De repente había aperecido de la nada un swell con olas de entre cintura y pecho, que hizo cambiar mis planes, y quedarme un poco más en la playa surfeando por casi una hora adicional.
Debido a las nuevas tecnologías, la gente vio por las webcams lo que estaba ocurriendo, y sólo media hora después, pasé de estar totalmente solo, a estar rodeado por surfers.
El experimento con la GoPro no funcionó muy bien. La luz era demasiado mala (lluvia y demasiado pronto por la mañana), y después de una caída sobre el remo, la cámara saltó de mi soporte casero.
Por suerte, tenía una cuerda de seguridad, y volveré a probar la fijación al remo 2.0

The forecast for Sunday was clear: from 1,5m waves, decreasing to 1m waves from 6AM to 12AM. Rainy weather. So it was time to get up very early again on Sunday to get some decent waves at last.
The outcome was quite different: at 7AM (6AM real time, as we changed to summer time the night before) it was raining, yes, but the sea was calm, almost flat, far form the 1,5m predicted waves … The predictions failed again, but nevertheless I decided to give it a try, and test the GoPro fixed to the carbon paddle.
At La Caleta, the swell was small, I tried some small waves, but the fishermen made me shift to another spot. I went north paddling to the North Montgat railway station, but … almost nothing … After an hour or so searching for some surfable sandbar I decided to call it a day and went south again to La Caleta, with my chest still hurting at every paddle, and when arrived there, from nowhere, a chest-height wave made me fall from the board … and then another one … and another one … A waist to chest swell appeared from nowhere and made me change my plans and remain in the beach surfing for almost another hour.
Due to new technologies, surfers saw it on the webcams, and half an hour later I passed from beign completely alone, to be sorrunded by prone surfers.
The GoPro experiment did not worked properly. The light was too low (rainy and very early in the morning), and after a fall on the paddle the cam unstuck from the support on the paddle.
Luckily, I had a safety line attached to the cam, and will try again with the paddle mount 2.0
